Dong Meng is a Data Scientist for MapR. In his role, Dong helps customers solve their business problems through big data ecosystems. He translates the value from customers’ data and turn it into actionable insights or machine learning products. Dong’s recent work includes integrating open source machine learning frameworks like predictionIO/Xgboost with the MapR platform. He has also created time series QSS and deep learning QSS as a MapR service offering.
Previously, Dong was senior data scientist for ADP, where he built machine learning pipelines and data products on HR, payroll data to power ADP Analytics, which helped companies to find and retain the right talent.
Prior to ADP, Dong was a staff software engineer for IBM, SPSS, where he was part of the team that built Watson analytics. During his graduate studies, Dong served as research assistant at the Ohio State University, where he concentrated on compressive sensing and solving point estimation problems from a Bayesian perspective.
